Dr. Oyetewa Oyerinde

Dr. Oyetewa Oyerinde is currently a final year dermatology trainee at the Harvard Dermatology Residency training program. She was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and earned her B.S. in Sports Medicine at Howard University in Washington, DC. Dr. Oyerinde then went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine, where she served as a peer educator, and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society upon graduation.

Throughout medical school, she held multiple leadership roles in her local chapter and regional board of the Student National Medical Association, including Co-President and Community Service Liaison respectively. She later took a year off from medical school to conduct research at the National Institutes of Health.

Her work resulted in multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, abstract publications, and oral presentations at national conferences. Her interests in medicine include healthcare disparities, pigmentary disorders and skin of color. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling, performing spoken-word poetry, and writing for her blog (www.notanotherdoctorblog.com).
