10 - 12 Months

As your little one nears their first birthday, they start to show signs of becoming a toddler while still being very much a baby. This stage marks a significant transition in their development. Typically, most one-year-olds can:

1. Move around by "cruising" along furniture.

2. Stand independently.

3. Take their initial steps, usually around their first birthday, but this milestone varies among children.

4. Feed themselves, mastering the 'pincer grasp.' This is holding small objects between their thumb and their forefinger.

5. Utter a few words like 'Mama' and 'Dada' to address parents.

6. Point to objects they desire to communicate their needs.

7. Engage in pretend play by mimicking actions or using objects imaginatively, like pretending to talk on the phone.

Remember, each baby progresses at their own pace. If you have any concerns about your child's development, consulting your pediatrician is advisable. The timing of milestones like sitting up or speaking their first words isn't as crucial as the overall progress they make in their development journey.
