7 - 9 Months

During the second half of their first year, babies become more mobile and interactive. It's an exciting time as they start to explore their surroundings and develop new skills. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect from your baby between 7 and 9 months:

1. Mobility: Your baby will start crawling, either by scooting, dragging, or traditional hands-and-knees crawling. Some babies may skip crawling altogether and go straight to walking.

2. Attachment: They will cling to you in the presence of unfamiliar people, showing a strong attachment.

3. Toy Preferences: Your baby will begin to show preferences for certain toys over others.

4. Language Development: They will start to understand and respond to familiar words like their name and 'no', along with babbling various sounds like 'mama' and 'baba'.

5. Physical Skills: Your baby will sit independently, pull up to standing position, and even stand while holding onto something.

6. Fine Motor Skills: They will reach for objects, pass toys between hands, and put objects in their mouth to explore.

7. Social and Emotional Development: Your baby will show different facial expressions to express emotions, play games like peekaboo, and recognize emotions through tone of voice.

8. Other Behaviors: They will clap, bang things together, close lips when disinterested in food, and look for dropped objects like toys.

Remember to baby-proof your surroundings as they become more mobile!
